Purpose of Position
The Consulting Director is responsible for developing and managing the overall customer experience at client sites including delivering infrastructure projects on time/on budget, expanding business opportunities and leading the Netfast delivery team.
Position Responsibilities
Client Satisfaction
- Proactively seek/create opportunities to participate in client interactions to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction are achieved
- Ensure project deliverables meet and/or exceed client expectations
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key client/partner/stakeholders to ensure effective communication channels exist and client/partner satisfaction is achieved
- Implement communication strategies with Client to effectively promote team accomplishments and review Project Status/delivery milestones on a weekly basis (written status reports, client meetings, conference calls etc.)
- Functions as the “Gatekeeper” of client’s strategic technical roadmap and positions self as a key technical decision-making partner
- Manage project budget(s) to meet or exceed parameters of project scope; proactively communicate changes of delivery status to client and Netfast regional management.
Business Development
- Lead efforts in building the overall client relationship in existing account including relevant pre-sales activities, building senior management client/partner relationships, qualifying projects, understanding requirements, delivering technical presentations and proposals and in closing new business.
- Identify and position opportunities outside scope of current engagement
- Develop proposals for new/follow-on business
- Work with Regional management and account team to develop and implement pricing strategy for new engagements
- Executes sales strategy in conjunction with Regional Management team and/or Account Manager (AM) assigned to manage the client relationship. Specific responsibilities outlined by VP (or Regional Director) as part of overall account plan.
- Become trusted advisor and strategic development point of contact with the Client infrastructure and operational support teams.
- Ability to identify and convert client business goals and objectives into technology designs and solutions.
Delivery
- Direct delivery of all projects in defined area; ensuring projects are completed at or ahead of: schedule, costs are managed to budget, and customer expectations are exceeded.
- Advise teams in maintaining timelines
- Provide leadership and direction to engineer/consultant team in project delivery
- Provide guidance or direct engineer/consultant team to appropriate resources regarding technical issues and questions
- Manager resource placement and rotation within assigned accounts
- Report project status and other relevant business metrics to Netfast Regional Management on a weekly basis and/or as required (utilizing written updates, conference calls, etc.)
- Facilitates building of team skills to meet criteria of current and future client delivery needs
- Understands customer payment process and key internal stakeholders to facilitate timely Accounts Receivable payments to Netfast
Manage and Develop Team
- Effectively build, develop, and manage team of consultants at client site(s)
- Partner with Resource Manager to provide career path planning and coaching to ensure consultant/engineer job satisfaction and professional growth is achieved
- Partner with Resource Manager to complete Consultant’s Professional Development Program (PDP) profile and create professional development goals.
- Work with Regional Director - Delivery and Resource Manager to facilitate placement/rotation of engineers/consultants
- Complete Consultant annual performance review (Personal Effectiveness Profile) and informal/formal performance review processes and relevant feedback as needed

- Ability to understand the business of Netfast and the business of the client/partner, including the financial impact of implementing technology solutions. Including:

- Prior experience with pre-sales activity or account planning is desirable
- Understands Netfast’s Solutions Marketing structure: demonstrates competency (or capacity to be successful) in the ability to translate customer/business requirements into Netfast business solutions and successfully position with customers
- Ability to engage senior IT client management in discussions regarding infrastructure/leading-edge technologies as it relates to the IT business, the client’s industry and their business model
- Technically competent: demonstrates sufficient knowledge and understanding of infrastructure technologies as to successfully oversee customer projects and lead technical/consulting teams
- Understands (or is capable of learning) corporate financial practices and principles
- Commitment to company values and business objectives
- Ability to work longer than a 40 hour work week, including weekends. Ability to travel.
Qualifications: Education and Professional Experience
- B.S./B.A. degree in an engineering or technical field or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge
- 10+ years experience within the IT infrastructure industry or professional services/consulting industry with at least 5 years proven success in a management role.
